Wayne Pritchard
Lloyd “Wayne” Pritchard attended Iowa State University and the Brown Institute of Minneapolis, MN. He entered the US Army in 1941 and served in combat during World War II. Following his military discharge in 1945, he lived in Sioux City and Spencer, IA, where he worked in radio. His radio career in Sioux Falls started from ‘living’ and broadcasting from a Shriver’s Department Store window. He began his career with KSOO radio in the early 1950’s. Wayne quickly became a beloved radio personality in town. As the number one radio announcer with KSOO, he began the Wayne Pritchard Show. His morning show continued for over 40 years. Wayne introduced talk-radio to Sioux Falls. Wayne retired from KSOO in 1993.
