Gary Owens Production Awards
The SDBA Gary Owens Commercial Production Awards were first presented in 1999 at the annual state convention. Awards are presented in both radio and television categories. To qualify for the award, all spots must have aired on an SDBA member station at least 10 times in the past year. The spots must have been produced by a full-time employee of an SDBA member station for one of the station's advertisers.
Entries must be 15, 30, or 60 seconds in length. There is a maximum of 3 entries per person and only 1 person must have been responsible for the ad - no collaborations. Also, no agency productions are allowed. The recipients are honored with a certificate and a cash prize which are presented at the SDBA Annual Leadership Conference each year.
