Dean Sorenson started his career as at KORN AM in Mitchell, South Dakota, as a senior in high school. By the age of 23, Dean was the general manager of KGFX AM in Pierre, South Dakota. In 1971 Dean founded Sorenson Broadcasting with Jerry Simmons. Dean Broadcasting has since purchased 22 radio stations in Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota. Dean received the Tom Brokaw Award in 2004.
