Faehn began working at KSDR in Watertown in 1984 and bought it in 1994. He sold the stations in 2000 and was elected to the SD State House of Representatives in 2004 as a Republican. Faehn served for six years and in 2010, served as the Majority Leader of the House. He started KXLG in Watertown in partnership with long-time broadcaster and former state legislator Dean Sorenson and Pierre businessman Duane Butt. Longtime Watertown personalities Dean Johnson, Jim Aesoph, and David J Law are on staff at KXLG. Faehn has served on numerous local Boards and Charities and with both KSDR and KXLG he has raised thousands of dollars for local charities. Faehn won the Tom Brokaw Award in 2012.
